As with any investment, the value of your investment can go up and down. This means that you may have less money when you withdraw than when you started. However, you choose how much risk you are happy to take and the funds in which your money is invested will reflect your personal approach to investment risk. Your savings will be diversified over a number of different funds to spread the risk further.
