General Investment Account

You have the option to open a General Investment Account (GIA).

This is a type of investment whereby your savings are pooled with other investors’ funds allowing access to different types of asset, some of it in the stock market, which are typically difficult to invest in by yourself.

The aim is to provide long term capital growth, income or a combination of both. You can invest a lump sum or make regular contributions. You can also transfer monies from your GIA and invest into a stocks and shares ISA.

As with any investment, there is a risk that the value can go up as well as down. The amount of fluctuation will depend on the markets, but also your chosen level of investment risk. Our portfolios reduce this risk by investing in a range of different assets and funds.
